I am joining Lori Harris https://www.facebook.com/Lori-Harris-513039528735475/ and some other writers through February for #februaryfreewrite. As much as I love freedom, writing prompts are definitely helpful for me in this new venture. Each day a different word is given to write on. So here goes.
I want to rescue you
I want to rescue you from your past.
I want to rescue you before the harm was done to you.
I want to rescue you from the hurt and hardship you endured.
I want to rescue you before you stepped off the path.
I want to rescue you before you made that choice that you are still living with.
I want to rescue you from the pain you are walking through right now.
I want to rescue you from the pain you need to walk through to gain healing.
I want to rescue you from the wrestling and doubt.
I want to rescue you from the choices you are making right now.
I want to rescue you from the self doubt and self hate you feel right now.
I want to rescue you from the ways you hurt yourself.
I want to rescue you from the ways you are hurting others.
I want to rescue you from the things you hold onto so tightly.
I want to rescue you.
You are not mine to rescue.
I cannot rescue you.
I hear the voice of the one who can, gently, kindly whispering in a still small voice into your soul, “do you want to be made well? Do you want to be rescued?”
I hear the voice of the only one who can travel back to all those past moments and rescue what was lost.
I hear the voice of the one that says, “give me your hand, I am making all things new.”
I hear the voice of the one that says, “I will trade you beauty for all the ashes.”
I hear the voice of the one that says, “For I know the plans I have for you, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”
I hear the voice of the one who says, “I am doing a new thing. Look, I am making streams in the desert and paths in the wilderness.”
I hear the voice of the one who knit you together in your mother’s womb and knew you before you were born.
I hear the voice of the one who knows where you are and knows what it will take to rescue you.
So I call out for courage for you, that you will hear His voice and have courage to trust His heart.
I call out to the one who can rescue you.
