Cindy White is a woman that I knew for too short of time, but who left many marks on me. I have written some of the lessons she taught me here https://inkblotlife.com/2018/10/15/more-than-this-moment/ and here https://inkblotlife.com/2018/10/25/god-buys-dirt/
Today’s word prompt is become. It made me think of Cindy’s Celebration of Life Service and the teens there with homemade T-shirts that read “When I grow up I want to be like Cindy.” I keep this poem on my wall where I can see it because I too want to be like her when I grow up. She is one of the few that make me want to become like them.

More of you Less of Me By Cindy White
A mirror lets me see my face
God let my heart reflect your grace.
My dull eyes need a larger view
So “others” will look more like “you.”
Place on my lips “Salvation’s” story
And let that be my only glory
Equip me God for servitude
So others will see more of you.
Deliver me from sin, and self
To focus on your kingdom’s health
More thoughtful, father- let it be
Much more of you and less of me,
More often I’ll be on my knees
Less selfish in whom I will please
More gentle in the things I say
And less inclined to want my way
More understanding, as I do.
Your will, your way, your mission too.
Reduced to tears for all lost souls
God make eternity my goal
And as they search, let others see
Much more of you and less of me.
