Out my Window: Fresh breeze. Starting to brighten up a bit earlier. The birds are chirping early on. Deer frolicking, literally in the field. Made me laugh.
Enjoying: The little hints of color around as the buds swell. The early spring flowers peeking through. Open windows and the fresh breeze.
Listening to: Old School Audio Adrenaline Bloom
Listening to some Bob Goff (needing the simple reminders and refreshing spirit of Bob)… I clicked on a few talks on Youtube. This was one of them.
I love reading and listening to books and talks about about learning, and especially the power of habits. The Craig Groeschel leadership podcast interview with James Clear was so good. Habits so simple, and yet profound in changing our thoughts and life. https://www.life.church/leadershippodcast/q-a-atomic-habits-with-james-clear/ I am hoping our library system has the book Atomic Habits.
Still re-listening to the audio of Breaking Free from Beth Moore. https://www.lifeway.com/en/product/breaking-free-the-journey-the-stories-2009-edition-audio-sessions-M00000112
Reading:I completed Finding Beautiful:Discovering Authentic Beauty Around the World by Rebecca Friedlander I enjoyed the ladies’ stories so much that I read the whole book on my Kindle copy before I received my hard copy which is unusual for me. I will be writing a review of the book soon. It is available for pre-order now. It is being released April 30. I think it would be a great one to share with older teens and young adults. The hope of where these ladies were and where God has brought them is so encouraging. The trailer for the book is here: https://www.rebeccafriedlander.com/finding-beautiful.html?fbclid=IwAR2osyMOVT30ndeBwJvhDJDjpHxL7Bb9B7MlTPzpbaCPCYp2w38u47epYjA
Night time reading: In His Image by Jen Wilkin
Haven’t started yet, Get Weird: Discover the Surprising Secret to Making a Difference by CJ Casciotta This is my carry around go to for the week. Looking forward to reading it.
Pondering: What does it look like to wait on the Lord in this season? Wondering if I may have run ahead on some stuff. Trying to offer it back over and allow God to give me the proper timing or confirm that I am on the right track. Holding onto and pondering Psalm 31:26 Be strong and let your heart take courage, all you who wait for the Lord.
Learning: How to keep my mouth shut in certain places where I may have insight that might be helpful but is not being asked for. Trusting God to fill in the gap in the hearts and minds of some young people that are not really processing fully. Learning what it looks like to support and encourage even when you think they may be missing some things.
Home: I took the beginning of the week slow to catch up a bit with home and self. Next week is Spring Break so I look forward to doing some specific cleaning. I plan on making some lists to help me focus.
Fitness and Mental Health: Survived and completed the race I was attempting to train for. I think I will switch to walking for a bit. My right knee seems tweaked and heading back to planks instead of pushups. Definitely need to be moving. Thankful for the nice weather these past bunch of days. Helps me want to move and helps my mind clear up a bit.
Giving Thanks: For the ability to be able to run the race. For clarity in a difficult situation. For friends who care and pray for me and my family. For a patient husband. For nicer weather. For books and time to read. For God’s redeeming hand and hesed.
