Practicing Resurrection Day 13

hope

So many were stopping or slowing down, surprised by hope that was found along the path. There was a heaviness in people’s steps and a slower pace until this point, and then people were climbing the hill to get a picture with this beautiful display of hope. The people walking by were doing a community walk for those who had lost loved ones and friends to suicide, also for those who struggle with that desire, and to raise awareness. There were tears and laughter. There was camaraderie in the ache and grief, but there was also hope, as a small community gathered to choose to remember lives, and to choose life even when it is hard to go on.

But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint. Isaiah 40:31
