Lilacs… oh how I love thee.
The city I am from is known as the Lilac City and every year they have a lilac festival. The smell brings me great happiness. They are one of my very favorite flowers. We had a row of these in my backyard growing up, and I would take the little flowers off and suck the nectar out. We always had cut lilacs in our home during the flowering season. I am so thankful for lilacs in my yard now as an adult. I have been eagerly waiting for them to open up and fill my yard with such a sweet aroma. It was worth the wait.
