Another… There is another narrative flowing throughout all time and history that is truer than any story being told. God is making all things new. He is in the process of redeeming and restoring this world. The narrative of the world is loud and appears to be the truest because there seems to be so much evidence and so many experts telling us about death, destruction, economic downfall, and more. All these things are true, and are happening, but they are not the final say. They are not the truest thing occurring at the moment. These things are not the whole truth.
There is another truth that is deeper and older than the Earth. The truth that God so loved us and is gathering us up to Him is the deepest truth. He is making all things new. This truth helps us frame all the other narratives going on. God is speaking the Truth for all who hear His voice. We must learn to be still and listen for it. It takes practice and choosing to listen to another voice besides the ones that are loudest and seem the most convincing. These voices seem to drown out the truest narrative, but we get to choose to lean in and listen closely and know that He is God.
I was reminded of the Casting Crowns’ song, Voice of Truth and the chorus is running through my mind.
But the voice of truth tells me a different story
The voice of truth says, “Do not be afraid!”
The voice of truth says, “This is for My glory”
Out of all the voices calling out to me
I will choose to listen and believe the voice of truth
Today I choose another way. I choose to lean in and listen and believe the voice of truth that tells the truest narrative because He is author and perfecter of all things.
I really like the way you interwove the word prompt into your post.

There is something working here,
a truth, and yes, a tension,
for the road is coming clear,
God’s path for our redemption.
The world was fallen long ago,
and seemed forever lost,
but how on earth were we to know
that we were worth the cost
of the breaking of the Son
upon the ransom-wheel,
that act that made sin come undone,
that Satan could not steal
a single solitary soul
that turned to God, becoming whole.
