daybookphotoOut my Window: hummingbird flitting about, blue skies with fluffy white clouds, beautiful lake, hills, fireworks exploded here and there

Enjoying: walks along water, time with my oldest, relaxing, extra reading and studying time, front yard gardens, so many different types of flowers

Listening to/Watching: Almost done with book 1 Lord of the Rings, moving onto second book The Two Towers  on Audible. Holy Post It was encouraging to hear people wrestling with how we move forward in a way that was honoring to people and issues. I also watched Judah Smith’s Wednesday night talk. It is a bit long, but worth hanging in there, truth we need to hear.

Reading: I read Nobody Will Tell You This But Me: A true (as told to me) story by Bess Kalb at the recommendation of my friend. It was so good. I finished the entire book on my flight across the country. I laughed out loud, and cried too. Thankfully the lady nearest me slept on. Kalb shares her grandma with us, along with many lessons of life, love, and more. I love Bess’ grandma, and feel like I got to spend some time with her and glean the good, and laugh and roll my eyes at the rest that definitely felt similar to my dear grandma. I am now reading Where the Crawdads Sing by Delia Owens.

By my bed: A Gentle Answer: Our ‘Secret Weapon’ in an Age of Us Against Them by Scott Sauls.

Rambling Thoughts: “He has shown you, O mortal, what is good. And what does he Lord require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God.” Micah 6:8. Thinking about what this looks like in this season of the my life and the world. And what does it look like to encourage my local church and those in my sphere of influence to live this way also. I continue to be disappointed and disheartened by the stuff shared by people that in my opinion should not be, things that seem thoughtless, and or unchecked for truth. But I also get frustrated with my reaction and lack of being quick to listen and slow to speak. I want to be better at asking good questions and having a compassionate heart to those who appear ignorant of other people’s hurts and struggles, and be humble enough to see where I do that to others too. Definitely a journey that includes more refining, abiding, and learning to listen better for the Holy Spirit. “Show me your ways, LORD, teach me your paths.” Psalm 25:4

Fitness and Mental Health: July Goals: working on core and abs/stretching 5xs a week. Trying to walk daily with a few longer walks thrown in there. Mental Health: continuing to look for beauty. I enjoy sharing it on Instagram I enjoy that space and enjoy following people who speak truth and add beauty into our world at the same time.

Home: Nothing like going away to get things in order. I left two of my men, so I made sure all was cleaned, and food available. My husband mulched the gardens so they look nicer. Definitely a battle with weeds. Hoping to finish the trim on the outside of windows that I started in the fall. I need to do the front.

Giving Thanks: my home, provisions, small group studies,  good food, missing the majority of the heat wave at home, enjoying cooler temperatures, variety of flowers, gardens in everyone’s front yards, books that are so perfect for this season, generosity and kindness of friends, friends who pray, time to spend with my older son, baseball players back
