Outside my window: Snowflakes fluttering and some sunshine. So thankful for some light.

Reading: Totally resisting the urge to pick up one of the new books I received for Christmas. So excited to start them. Focusing on finishing Made for the Journey by Elisabeth Elliot for a Revell Books Review. It used to be These Strange Ashes and is being released as this.
Advent Misc.: Completed The Greatest Gift by Ann Voskamp, and The One True Gift by Tim Chester Both are great helps in keeping me focused on wonder and awe of the Advent season.
Pondering: Still wondering at the Christmas story and all the people immediately involved. I have written two posts this week about it. Praying for a greater wonder and awe of God.
Learning: How to hold loosely to this new stage of life in family living, as well as my own personal life. This learning curve is pretty steep.
Home: Realized how adult I am when I was so excited to finally have a clean bathroom the other day. I have been maintaining, but deeper cleaning finally happened. I was a little surprised at how happy it made me. Apparently it is the little things in life… I am in a clean up and catch up mode. Thankful for some extra time to catch up and slower schedule for a couple of days.
Fitness and Mental Health: Well the stalled ode mode of last week carried over into just trying to catch up on stuff here. I did intentionally dress a couple different days as if it was my intent to exercise, so that’s something. As far as mental health I am choosing to be still in the mornings, choosing to be fully present. Working on taking my thoughts captive when I start running towards the ledge which is still happening more than I would like, but I am getting there.
Giving Thanks: For God becoming man, for Emmanuel, God with us. For all that means: “The people walking in darkness have seen a great light; on those living in the land of deep darkness a light has dawned.” Isaiah 9:2 “For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.” Isaiah 9:6
Planning Ahead: Trying to get the details covered for a few of our holiday trips, along with making sure to have birthdays covered. Wondering about what word or topic I might start the year on as my focus. Thinking about a theme or what to write about next.
