So for years I have read blogs that linked up with Five Minute Fridays. I finally have a blog and have started formally writing so I thought I would like to join in. Fridays do not seem to work for me, so as per my second choice name for this blog, Late to the Party, my Five Minute Friday is on a Saturday.The rules are: set a timer and free write for five minutes on word prompt, then share.
Influence… this is something that is easy for me to forget that I have. When my kids were younger it was something I became very aware of. They would copy a word, or a tone, or a way of carrying themselves that mirrored me. God has used them many times to check my heart because it was easy to see things in them that we did not want as a family, but then I would realize where they got that attitude from. No matter my words, they seemed to pick up the heart attitude in me. It has kept me honest.
Being in ministry I have realized at times how much influence I have. Sometimes it scares me because sometimes I am given more influence than a human should have. I am very quick to point that out. We all have fallen short of the glory of God and need God’s grace and mercy. Thankfully He is super gracious to give it. I am thankful that in our weakness He is strong. I pray that I steward the spaces of influence He has given me well, and that He fills in the gaps that come with that.
